What you'll do:

  • Strategic account leadership for all assigned clients.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, with a continuous focus on growing existing and exploring potential new business, built upon a strong relationship foundation.
  • Lead clients in planning and executing annual or short-term marketing projects/programs to ensure client retention and the pursuit of further growth opportunities.
  • Manage and coordinate account teams in collaboration with creative and project management leadership.
  • Monitor assigned book-of-business client meetings, status, briefing and internal kick off meetings, while providing oversight and counsel to direct reports and their assigned clients as needed.
  • Develop and maintain key vendor relationships e.g., media, social media, SEO, etc.
  • Manage and analyze client results for agency-managed metrics.
  • Assumes a steady focus on effective communication both with internal team members and externally with partners and clients.
  • Negotiate collaborative solutions as needed.
  • Lead agency response in client relationship trouble-shooting as necessary.

Manage direct reports, including their workload, training and development

 

About you:

  • Must possess a deep and thorough understanding of the pharma/healthcare advertising industry, including new product launches
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in managing multiple clients and account teams
  • Marketing acumen and demonstrated experience in leading an integrated agency team in brand planning, budget development, execution and measurement
  • Demonstrated success at developing valued relationships with senior-level clients
  • Demonstrated success as strategic partner to clients
  • Digital and multi-channel experience
  • Must have proven success at identifying opportunities and securing organic client growth
  • Strong organization and interpersonal skills
  • Superior presentation skills
  • Strong financial acumen - demonstrated success in ensuring cost effectiveness and productivity

Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership skills with previous direct-report management experience.
  • Strategic and creative mindset.
  • Budget management proficiency.
  • Keen understanding of healthcare industry and its effect on agency services and client marketing needs.
  • Knowledge and application of marketing disciplines.
  • Professional judgement and discretion.
  • Skilled in defining and resolving issues.
  • Strong work ethic and client service orientation.
  • Minimum of eight years’ agency account management experience required.  Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, journalism or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
