We’re looking for an experienced Data Architect to set the data strategy and vision for data at the Fishawack Group. You will create and be responsible for the As Is, Target and Transition architecture states accompanied with an architecture roadmap and be a key part of the team to deliver the necessary capabilities.

Initiatives including cloud data transformation, enterprise data model, data governance, and MDM for an incredibly exciting company in healthcare and pharmaceuticals.


What you'll do

  • Establish the Data and Data technology strategy within the organisation to facilitate a more efficient and fit for purpose business usage of internal and external data.
  • Lead the technology stack and capabilities associated with our data technology ecosystem including Data Lake/Warehouse, application integrations platform, advanced analytics and Business Intelligence.
  • The creation of standards and frameworks associated with how data technologies are to be used and ensure adherence to those standards by data engineers and developers. Including repeatable design patterns that relate to industry-accepted reference architectures.
  • Develop key partnerships across the business (including Finance, HR and Marketing), Group IT and Digital teams and data personnel, including data owners/stewards, data process owners, data visualization experts and other business partners, with the goal of maturing the enterprise up the data maturity curve.
  • Keep a pulse on data technologies available in the market and communicate roadmaps associated with what technologies we are using (or should be using) and why.

About you

  • Cloud data architecture knowledge including developing architecture strategies and plans to enable cloud data transformation, MDM, data governance, and data science/ engineering capabilities.
  • A strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Data capabilities and demonstrable experience of setting and implementing strategy using these technologies.
  • A good understanding of the CDMC (Cloud Data Management Capabilities) ideally EDM certified, DAMA, DMBOK and other associated data management frameworks.
  • Proven understanding of the latest data management capabilities including Data Fabric and Data Mesh methodologies including the build and implementation of Data Products.
  • Proven experience in data definition and modelling incl. designing, building, and maintaining data models at both the enterprise and solution/application level
  • Experience developing data policies, standards, and procedures, finding the balance between tactical and strategic needs
  • Data governance experience to operate formal and informal technical governance and compliance activities
  • Experience of working with one or more cloud data platforms (e.g. Microsoft, AWS, Google Cloud Platform - GCP), and visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Qlik, Tableau)
  • Hands-on experience with data modelling tools
  • Stakeholder engagement - engaging with all levels of business leaders and developing a thorough understanding of business processes and compliance requirements.
  • Ideally certified in Data Architecture associated certifications such as TOGAF, Microsoft, AWS, Google etc
